The Norman Rockwell Museum
Dedicated to education and art appreciation inspired by the legacy of Norman Rockwell, Norman Rockwell Museum presents the world’s largest, most significant collection relating to the artist, including original artworks (from Saturday Evening Post covers to The Four Freedoms, and civil rights-era paintings), a vast archive of artifacts, photographs, correspondence, and ephemera. Founded over 45 years ago in the town of Stockbridge, MA, where Rockwell worked and lived during his last 25 years, the Museum is a national institution with a global reach and a small-town feel. The Museum presents changing exhibitions on the art of American illustration, including past and contemporary masters in the field that Rockwell was proud to be a part of. Also on view from May through October, Rockwell’s Stockbridge studio offers a look back at the artist’s original workspace. The Museum is located on a beautiful 36-acre estate, with grand views of the Berkshires hills, and Housatonic River. Programs and events are presented year-round—for young and old— related to the works on view.
