Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens

Picture

Stuck indoors? Enjoy the beautiful Hillwood Gardens from home with, A Garden For All Seasons: Marjorie Merriweather Post’s Hillwood. Published by Rizzoli Electra, in partnership with Hillwood, and authored by Kate Markert, Hillwood’s Executive Director, the new work explores the history and design of the Washington gardens. For the first time, Kate Markert tells the story behind Marjorie Post’s gardens with the help of newly surfaced archival materials. The work features correspondence, drawings, and photos that reveal how Marjorie Post meticulously planned and created her gardens. Juxtaposed with vibrant new photography by Erick Kvalsvik, the book comes alive with the timeless splendor of the gardens. The 176-page publication begins with a foreword from tastemaker Charlotte Moss and concludes with an afterword by Marjorie Post’s granddaughter and Hillwood president emerita, Ellen Charles. The publication is offered through Hillwood Gardens as a hardcover at $50 and paperback (available exclusively through Hillwood) for $30. Hillwood Members receive a 10% discount on their purchase.
