San Diego Museum of Man
The San Diego Museum of Man inspires human connections by exploring the human experience through its conversation-sparking exhibits, public programs, and tours. Its vision is to be San Diego’s dynamic place to go to learn from each other, reflect on our place in the world, and build a better community.
The Museum has a range of immersive and thoughtful exhibits for all ages, from exploring thousands of years of beer history in BEERology to learning about monsters under the bed in the family-friendly Monsters! exhibit. Visitors will also discover cannibals aren't who they think they are in the limited-time Cannibals: Myth & Reality exhibit, explore the surprising, unique, and inspiring ways that we live with animals in Living with Animals, climb the California Tower to see spectacular views of San Diego, and so much more! The Museum’s newest exhibit, PostSecret, opens April 14, 2018 and explores the connecting power of secrets and is inspired by the community art project, PostSecret.
The Museum also hosts weekly public programs that bring alive its exhibits. Weekly Living with Animals programs feature local organizations and have ranged from live presentations with native wild animals, to creating pet-inspired art, and even learning how to cook plant-based meals. The Museum also hosts evening events throughout the year, including beer tastings and exhibit-inspired gatherings. To bring the Museum’s newest exhibit to life, Frank Warren, founder of the PostSecret project, will be speaking on April 2 and May 10 in San Diego about the project and the upcoming exhibit.
