Maryland Center For History and Culture (MCHC)
We are excited to announce that after 176 years, our member, the Maryland Historical Society has reopened its doors as the Maryland Center For History and Culture. This new identity reflects the organization’s mission to define itself as a space for the community to discover and develop a deeper understanding of Maryland's history and the impact that Marylanders have had on our nation's history and culture.
The transformation from the Maryland Historical Society to the Maryland Center For History and Culture has been years in the making. A few of these changes include a new website and visual identity. The "M" in the organization's new logo is inspired by their renowned collection of Baltimore Album quilts and represents pieces of a pattern coming together, but not complete, as more stories are always yet to be told. The new logo also radiates outwards and inwards, symbolizing the lives that the organization touches and the ideas it brings together.
The Maryland Center for History and Culture (MCHC) is home to both nationally and internationally renowned museum and library collections and selection of these works are now available to view via a digital collections portal on the MCHC's new website.
